Sustainable Office Design Seminar on the Agenda
30 Jun
Office transformation specialists Morgan Lovell have organised a seminar to give the inside track on sustainable workplaces.
Aimed at facilities managers and property professionals – as well as business leaders looking to update their office interior – the event offers the latest advice on green workplaces.</p>
Taking place at Morgan Lovell’s London headquarters in Noel Street, Soho – the seminar covers practical ideas and tips to incorporate into future office design, illustrated by real examples of green workplaces in practice.
Adrian Norman of Morgan Lovell – one of the few office designers in the UK to be accredited by both the BRE and the US Green Building Council – will give expert advice on realistic low-cost office design ideas that can help make the workplace more green and sustainable.
He’ll also discuss sustainable product specification and explore where government support for green working environments is potentially available.
Then, a real life case study will be presented by Kerrie Culff from publishers Egmont UK, who will share her experience of going ‘green’ in the office and what it has meant to her company.
The seminar finishes with a tour of Morgan Lovell’s headquarters – an environment which has achieved the highest BREEAM fit out environmental assessment score in the UK to date.
Andrew Bradley, managing director of Morgan Lovell in London, said: “The seminar offers real, applicable advice that can be incorporated into today’s office design projects.”
The seminar takes place on Wednesday, 9 July. Two sessions are being held, one in the morning and again in the afternoon.
Places can be booked by visiting www.morganlovell.com/events or by telephoning 01462 490 609.

Suggest you look at your local bookstore or in your local library in the interior design and decorating area. There are several new books out on interior color theory and my local library has them. Color theory for industrial interiors may be different from home interiors, but what I think you are trying to learn is what moods certain colors elicit and what paint colors go best with what wood tones and fabrics.
You may be too advanced for this advice, so sorry if I am not helping. I find a lot of people don't think outside their area of the Dewey decimal system. And I am amazed at what my library carries. I only buy a book when I want to look at it for years.
Your trying to wrap the box without putting the gift in first. Meaning you need to choose the bedding which is the focal point before choosing the wall color and accents. The bedding will determine the style also.
Personally with a wood flooring and a beamed ceiling and a textured wall I would go with a look similar to this…http://www.countryliving.com/cm/countryliving/images/bedroom6-de.jpg or this http://bedzine.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2007/07/lapuk_bedroom.jpg Where the texture wall was painted with copper tones (gold green reds). Then gold or a peach for the remaining walls.
I think you should start with some good basics like sturdy wood cabinets, flooring, etc. When you have a foundation, you can build around it and add your desired paint color and other decor. Here are some picture galleries:

Many states require those calling themselves interior designers to be licensed (interior design degree, apprentice, and passing a nasty exam) while most anyone can call themselves an interior decorator, just as anyone can call themselves an artist.
Probably the best place to look for a job would be a furniture store, but since the economy is so bad right now, finding any job will be difficult.
you could go for a light neutral colour, like light yellow or peach, some off-white tone… since its a summer home you might want to keep the walls light, or you could try painting one wall dark and the others lighter, for example 2 walls brick red and the other two golden orange.. there are so many options. Since your looking for a less teenage look, keep things simple, avoid clutter and stay away from the baby blue baby pink shades and your all set!
If it's a scrapbook of interior design you have done, just take pictures of your work and find some paper that compliments it, maybe include your thought process on how you got to that design, or before and after pictures.
If it's a scrapbook of a "wish list" of changes you want to make, you could take pictures of the space and maybe sketch out what you want to do with it.
Good luck and happy 'bookin'
